My Purple Tang has fin rot and I am treating him with Kanaplex and Focus. It is working and he is healing.
I have hopefully successfully attached a video. Please look at his head and tell me what this white stringy stuff is? Mucous coat? Or a parasite?
He is eating great, swimming great, and hanging out with his buddies. Acting normally. Nothing on his gills or anywhere else. Just stringy stuff on his head. Eyes are clear and normal.
Apologies for bad photo. My Sailfin Tang kept photo bombing! 0A1CCDA0-DD27-4507-81C4-B3FE1945C65A.jpeg CE80041A-8D47-4F6B-9776-69E940BD32A2.jpeg

Pics are very dark but appear to be an injury. It should heal on its own and being in tank with Kanaplex should alleviate chance of any infection.

+1 on that being an injury, so is the fin damage. I'm not sure what other fish is doing that, but it is probably another tang. You may never see it happen, but putting a phone in front of the tank and videoing it when you leave the room might tell you who is the culprit.

Also, mixing Kanaplex with Focus shouldn't be done unless you know the dose, most people have have no way to measure the dose and there is too much of a chance of either getting too low of a dose or too high (Kanaplex can be toxic). This article explains that:
