I'm newish to saltwater fish keeping and just purchased some snails (trochus, cerith, and nassirous) for my tank that has been running for 4 months. I chose to quarantine these and boy I think I'm glad I did. Obviously, I didn't specifically hand choose each individual snail, I just told the lady at my lfs to give me x number of each type of snail. Anyway, as I introduced them to my qt I noticed this cerith had this white growth on it's "tail". It can not be the sediment from the rock that you see on the bottom of the qt tank since I literally just put him in the tank. I realize the picture isn't very good, but it's the best I could get. Is this something I should be concerned about or not? None of my other cerith's have it.

Agreed. Close up pictures under white light (ex. flashlight) would be best, but could it be the snail’s operculum (shell opening shield)? What’s putting me off is that none of your other snails have one, though.

if you are talking about the white thing on the top of the their tail that is normal
It can be different colors, glow under blues, and they shed them as they grow. They look cool put a bunch of ones that shed on a rock , should of glued them lol

Lol never thought of doing that, I just had my nassarius snails breed for the first time. I got a bunch of babies all over now, pretty stoked
