Hi all—

Reasonably new to the hobby here, and basically no experience with plumbing.

I’ve recently purchased a Marine DX 110 tank with the acrylic sump, and I am currently trying to work out how to plumb the sump. I’ve got a Sicce Syncra SDC 6.0 return pump, and I plan on using hard acrylic piping to connect this to a Aqua Ultraviolet 25 watt UV sterilizer, and then back into the Waterbox sump pumping. I need some help with connecting the different pipe sizes.

The return pump seems to be 1” 3/8. The UV system seems to be 3/4”. The Waterbox return piping seems to be 1” (that’s the diameter of the piping on the Waterbox).

Im not a plumber — can someone please point me to the right adapters to connect these pipe sizes?

Assuming I get adapters that connect all these different pipe sizes, is there anything else I need to think about?

pictures included for clarity.

You can always get another pump just dedicated for the UV and run that on a closed loop. I run a Sicce SDC on my AquaUV 57-watt using 3/4" hosing (there should be a smaller barbed adapter with the Sicce SDC). I have a larger Sicce SDC 9 for my return pump that runs larger diameter hosing.
