How many different tanks (fw or sw) have you owned and ran as a hobbyist over the course of your life?

LFS owners owning a storeroom full of tanks DOESN'T COUNT.

Were talking how many tanks you've personally owned and ran as a Hobbyist inside your home

I only have two salt now but usually had 3+ salt. Of course, now I have much bigger tanks.

24 is my guess

Been keeping tanks since I was 10 .... now a distressingly long time ago. Never been a ‘fill the house’ with tanks guy though. Four FW planted tanks (10, 30, 125, 180). Ten SW reefs (30, 120, 120xh, 60 frag, 90 thrice, 180, 265 and now the 450). Probably missed a couple.

Being someone who had spawned bettas, I’ve easily had about 50 jarred fish, as well as two 20 longs, two 55s, a 60 tall, three 29s, a 25, a 20, a 70, a 35, about 6 ten gallons, several one gallons and three gallons, and two five gallons.

Oh o forgot the 40 stretch and breeder and the tank which I don’t know the size of but think it was 40 gallons as well. Lol. I’ve.... had an obsession. (Almost every one of the tanks listed has had bettas of some type minus the 70 and that’s cause it’s a reef tank.

dang people on here do love tanks!

Depends how you look at it for me. Only 4 tanks but I’ve had them set up a few times in different orientations.

Old tanks
55g planted at my dads
6.5g planted at my girlfriends
6.5g planted at my dads (same tank as above but couldn’t keep anything alive at her place)

Currently running
55g planted
15g planted
20g reef tank

Over ten.

I had at least two tanks running from 1980 until 1991. Tropical FW and/or native FW or one SW.

A couple short term native FW tanks from 1992 to 1996.

Two or three tanks from 2000 to 2019. Currently two, both SW. Although one of those SW is actually one I maintain at a campground. So I really only have one reef tank in my home.

I only bought my first tank about a year ago, but I had a lot of money saved up and had been researching for years before my parents finally figured I was old enough to do what I want with my money, and I’ve gone a bit crazy! 2 planted guppy tanks, 2 soon to be 3 planted Apistogramma breeding tanks, 13 gallon reef, 10 gallon crystal shrimp tank, and a 5 gallon former temporary baby ruby dragonet tank/frag tank (he was eating frozen and there was an HOB refugium, his death was my error)

Salt water I'm on #5 I think.
Started as a 30 which bombed tremendously.
Then a 55, upgraded to a 100. That upgraded to a rr90. Broke that down in 2006 and was out of the hobby until 2014 and have a rr75. Looking to upgrade when I find my retirement house. Hopefully a 180g or so.

Oh boy, for salt I have had a 20, 46, 60, 75, 210, and now a 125. That's 6 salt tanks. Freshwater I had a 10, 20 long, 20 tall, 29, and multiple 75's. At least 6 fresh. Probably the most I ever had going at one time was 4 and it would have been 3 fresh and 1 salt. That was before I was married and had a house with property to maintain. Now I wouldn't even consider 2 tanks.

I'm crying foul! All my clients have accepted it's MY tank and it just happens to be in their house or place of business and they're just fortunate to pay me for the privilege. :D
