I've been told Acrolandia can be very slow, then suddenly take off

Looks like a dying hungs rainbow !!

Dead hungs rainbow lol. It was the Wwc budgie but sadly I lost it

Im still waiting for my acrolandia to take off. I have a friend who it didn’t budge for 2 years and now it’s a colony

Update:
Really considering upgrading! I just have ran out of real-estate and I would do quite a few things differently.

My tank definitely has a low nutrients issue. Corals are not as rich in color ever since removing sand and adding the aquatic life fixture. I started feeding more and turned my fuge light from 10 to 8 hours per night for now.

People light their fuge too intensely for too long. It does fine without overpowering at 3-5 hours light.

Do you replenish trace?

I dose aminos daily on a doser and do weekly water changes. I’m kind of paranoid ever since I had the heavy metals issue I do water changes every Wednesday/Thursday without fail.

I don’t want to drop the lighting from 10 hrs to 5 immediately. I gradually lower the photoperiod
Just read through your thread. Very cool!

Are you using your alkatronic for testing only? I’m wondering if you plan on doing any controlling with it or even is that possible? Also, am think about a calcium reactor when my kalk can’t up...Are you happy with the kamoer purchase or do you wish you had something else?

I use the alkatronic to test and to shut off my carx pump if my alkalinity goes too high. I’ve been really happy with the alka. Definitely has a learning curve but the testing is on par with salifert.

I run both kalk and carx. I use the kalk on a doser that doses every 12 minutes In an attempt to raise my ph. The kamoer has been rock solid. I thought I had an issue but as long as you change the rotary head And tubing when needed the pump is exactly what is needed to run a carx. I had inconsistency when running my carx on a manifold. I wouldn’t run a carx without a kamoer pump and carbondoser regulator
