StafOs, very nice grown in look you have going on.

Drew, very nice colony of a very nice old school polyp.

Bubbles, nice colony - next time please cut out the frags so your post is more in keeping with the idea of this thread. Please remember that there should be no frag plugs or small frags in the pictures. Thanks ;)

slkotara, very nice colony, and as others said, I bet they really glow. Picture isn't really clear enough to determine if they are a hornet or not, but as btkrausen said, I would be inclined to agree that they are L.A. Lakers rather than a hornet.

Patsquatch, very nice rainbows.

Mr. Microscope nice Crown Royals - those are what you showed growing under LEDs aren't they? Seems that at least some zoas do very well under LEDs.

to the person that asked if the "yellow hornets" have alternating skirts or not. That means nothing, my PPE's have alternating skirts. OMGZ Purple People Hornets!

Not the best WB in the first pic of the rastas, but you get the idea. I cannot wait for the rest of it to grow in now. :nerd: Nice colonies everyone!

They're HUGE! Like half dollar sized easily.

I always wonder about this statement. Do people realize how big a half-dollar is? Sorry, don't mean to single you out at all. I just see this--a lot. I see vendors talking about their big palys from time to time and saying "The polyps are/get HUGE; half dollar size or bigger!". A half dollar measures almost 1 and 1/4" across. I've even at least once seen someone say their paly was almost silver dollar size! What?I've never seen any paly aside from Palthoa grandis get anywhere near that size. Even a quarter is almost 1" and I don't know if I've ever had a paly that I would hold up to a quarter and say they are the same size. I've seen lots of polyps and some are beefy for sure, but when I say big, I'm talking like maybe 1/2" across, perhaps even 5/8"-3/4" skirts included, which is still big for a zoanthid/paly. Keep in mind too, that while 3/4" is close to 1", that's a 25% difference, which is huge on the scale we're talking about, and 1.2" would be a 60% difference! I'd welcome people to go get a ruler and find 1.2" and see if any of their palys are close to that, or grab some change and see how they compare. Sorry, kind of a pointless rant--no harm meant, I just see this said so often and I've never seen or received a polyp like that (again, aside from some Protopaly/grandis). It would be interesting to see.

Sounds like fun! I'll get a ruler or tape measure out.

It takes me a bit to get pics uploaded so there may be a delay.

I have some that are probably quarter size from time to time.
