Hello good people! I am a 14 yr old that has a 75 reef tank (with a sump), I’ve had this tank for almost a month, I have a Mustard tang, a powdered brown, a pair of clownfish, a lawn mower Lenny, a dragon Gobi, a sand sifting starfish, cleaning crew, and a sea urchin,They all have been thriving for the past weeks, I just got the powdered brown and the mustard tang, I added the powdered brown first and he was kinda freaked out on the first day, the next morning he was surfing due to his reflection lol, finally after 2 days he was a tang again. I heard that tangs are very territorial so I got the mustard tang before the powdered brown started marking his territory , they fought the first day pretty bad but seemed to be okay the next morning, they’ve all been thriving but then I stare at my powdered brown and see 3 very little white spots on him, I don’t have a pic at the moment but will be happy to add one tomorrow, I haven’t seen a change in behavior, only that he has been hiding a little more, he has been eating just fine and is still very active, and he didn’t have these white spots until I added the mustard tang. What should I do!!! I know you guys probably think I’m crazy because I have so many fish in there already but i added cycled sand, rocks, sump rocks, and cycled water, from a old tank, and it’s been doing amazing, didn’t even go through a mini cycle. Please help

Possibly ick from being under stress. I’m no expert by any means but have studied several times and know there highly susceptible to ick which is why I don’t own any tangs :) maybe we can get a pronto chime in

Are these the spots you are talking about?

If so, it appears to be stress marks. They should go away with time.

I wouldn’t be surprised if these tangs eventually get ich if they weren’t quarantined prior to entering your display tank.

Both tangs are Acanthurus and very prone to disease. Can’t see anything in the pics but you need to be on the look out. The mustard I believe gets way too big for a 75.

Yea, my father owns a saltwater store so I don’t mind giving it to him to sell it one day. they’ve all been eating and they haven’t multiplied, I’m going to add a pic when I get home so I can show you the white spots

Yes just like those. But they are very very small, you can barely tell that there even on him, and they haven’t multiplied at all today, I bought them from my dad and he has had him in quarantine for over 2 months, he was doing amazing until I added the mustard tang

How did your dad quarantine them? Was the mustard tang also quarantined?

That’s cool that your dad owns a store. Could it be fighting marks at all? We can’t really ID anything with blurry pics.

Yeah, it’s pretty cool, it’s a big relief because I get free RODI and salt, and I get fish cheap as can be, but I don’t know if it’s fight marks, but I’m not going to Risk it, I already raised the temperature to 78 degrees and I might do hybo salinity soon
