I have a 340 gallon in wall display. I have 4 gyres: 2 x Maxspect XF 350s at the surface of one end of the tank. 2 X Maxspect XF 280s (rated at 6000+ gph each) on the opposite side of my tank at the surface. Those are all controlled by the Hydros wave engine now. Which is awesome! I run all 4 at around 60-70%, would like to do 100% to get the max flow, but, it's not good for my LPS. lol.

I have two MP40s on the back glass pushing water forward, those are both running at around 60% each as well.

My return pump is also running at the max overflow rate of my H2O Overflow system at around 2400 GPH. Which is around 8 times turnover rate an hour. In total with everything running at 60-80% I'm getting around 20-25k circulation on a 340 gallon display. Not the 100X I would like, but close enough. :)

1 Gyre in my 80G Deep Blue. Plus the return which has a fair amount of flow. May eventually add another Gyre as the SPS continue to grow and block flow.

Gyre pumps are probably one of my favorite changes in reef keeping in the last 20 years. I love their ability to deliver large amounts of flow spread over a wide area, being able to manage current type, power of flow and flow by time of day, and being able to dump the 4 to 6 powerheads I would have had in an equivalent sized tank back in the old days.

Seriously - just about everything in my tanks are old-school, from lighting to dosing - but the gyre is a huge advancement IMO.

I have mine placed at opposite sides of each other. One points slightly up for surface movement and the other is pointed diagonally across to push water around the tank. They have no dials to be able to turn them down but they are working. When they do go up I'll invest in some better one but for now it is what it is. No real current issues. Lol!

I have 2 MP40QDs and a Gyre XF350 in a 140-gallon Waterbox Peninsula. The MP40s are on the overflow side and the Gyre is on the far side.

2. Which powerheads are you using?
2x EcoTech Marine MP40QD
1x MaxSpect Gyre XF 350

I'm currently running 2 x Current USA EFlux 1050gph pumps and 1 x Jebao SOW4 on my 30G .

The Jebao is mainly to help with dead spots / detritus build up.

The main thing I struggle with is trying to determine the best/optimal wave pump location!? I've tried on the back, the side, high & low, back and side... and still keep tweaking to compensate for 'perceived' dead spots, even debated adding a 2nd Jebao, as I've got quite a few spares ATM, but then also looking to upgrade tank size considerably, so I'm sure it's a never ending puzzle

By the way I also just upgraded to a fluval Fx 4 canister filter which upped my flow as well and all my little tank buddies seem to really enjoy it. Lol
