I have to run it on 2/10 power, this thing is a work horse. When I first plugged it in at full power it blasted my sand everywhere and thrashed my coral around before I was able to lower the power.
Like Hygger Nano did the same thing. Had to turn the power down to 40%

Two tunze 6040 in a 90. I didn’t think I was underpowered but compared to what I’m reading it feels that way. They’re rated for a max of 1200 gph each at full power.

Not sure how you folks are throwing multiple mp40s at 5k gph in sub 200 gallon tanks.

Wonder if I should add another power head.

In my 75, 4' wide, I have 2 jebao scp-120's one on each side and 40% pulse is sufficient. I have one running at a time on intermittent schedules of 24 hours, so I have the flow changing every 24 hours from side to side covers all areas of my reef.

Water movement in a saltwater reef aquarium is important on so many levels so using the right powerheads in the right configuration for your tank is a pretty big deal! That being said there is not a "one size fits all" solution when it comes to the number of powerheads you need, which brands you use or where they should be placed. For the most part anyway. But it should still be interesting to see how many powerheads are members are using!

1. How many powerheads do you have in your saltwater aquarium? (what size tank do you have)

2. Which powerheads are you using?

I have a 125 gallon and I use two power heads one at the top in the front and one at the bottom in the back on opposite ends and they are 800 gph. I am not sure if that is enough but I only have soft corals and from the way they move it appears that there is plenty of movement.
