Ok, now that I have my Sailfin back to being mostly healthy (thread), I’m thinking of treating my display for flukes. Over time I have seen some fish show indications of them and I would hate for the Sailfin to be clean only to get reinfected.

I just want to verify it should be safe with my inhabitants. I have a Tuxedo Urchin Maxima clam I am most concerned about. No wrasses right now, but do have a Snowflake eel.
Corals are a mixed bag.
* Goni’s
* Frogspawn and Hammers
* Duncan
* Candy Canes
* 2 nice Bubbles
* A few Acans
* Leathers/Xenia/Zoas
* Orange Monti
* Purple Stylo
* Branching Cyphastrea
* Green Slimer
* Some encrusting sps (like Jack-O-Lantern Lepto)

Random animals:
* Green BTA
* Photosynthetic Gorgonia
* Sand Sifting Starfish
* Blue Tuxedo Urchin
* Máxima Clam

So, any concern with running a PraziPro series through the tank?

If so, the dosage is 2.5ml per 10 gallons, right? Water volume is ~90 gallons. So 22.5 ml per dosage?

Thanks,
-TCoach

While deemed reef safe - a reason for quarantine settings. If youre going to treat in display , its not easily soluble and will last several days even if diluted. Your random species list is what concerns me with praziquantel but before approaching this- what other fish are there besides sailfin ?
Prazi lowers oxygen a little and can be dosed effectively at 80% of recommended.

@Jay Hemdal - thoughts ?

If is too high of a risk, I can just wait for the 120 gallon upgrade coming in the next 3-6 months. Just thought it would potentially be worth it after getting the Sailfin back to health.

Thanks,

Prazipro is pretty safe for reef tanks with a few caveats - the solvent used acts like carbon dosing, so you need to stop any other carbon dosing that you might be doing. Also, aeration can be an issue - add an extra airstone and continue to run your skimmer (just don’t collect the skimmate while dosing).
