I saw something on one of my cerith snails, it looked like a small snail/limpet and looked like it was trying to eat the cerith. I tried pulling it off and it clamped down tight, when I did pull it off there was a hole in the ceriths shell where the small snail was. Any idea what it is?

I believe there is a type of slipper limpet that's known to attach itself to snails that way. You'd want to look it up, I don't remember the specifics. Definitely looks like a slipper limpet, but some slipper limpets are harmless. If you're sure it damaged the snail, I wouldn't put it back in.

It definitely damaged the snail’s shell, there’s a hole where the limpet was but thankfully the snail seems fine and is still alive. I didn’t put the limpet back just to be safe.
