Hello I am desperately trying to find a good skimmer for my sump that only has a max water level of 5”. I’m not exactly looking for cheap but would be nice to find effective and inexpensive. The pump went out on mine and have been skimmerless for months 8/. Any suggestions would be great I’m tired of thinking I found one but read specs and find it needs 8-10”. Thank you all

Most decent sized skimmers are going to need more that 5" of water to function properly.
The way I see it, you have 2 viable options. One. Replace the dead pump with a new one. Most if not all manufacturers sell replacements.
Two. Figure a way to raise the water level in your sump to accommodate a different skimmer. Adding a piece of glass or acrylic to the bubble trap in you sump shouldn't be too difficult

I don’t think I have a bubble trap this was bought to replace my non reef ready 125 kinda regretting the purchase I know very little about sumps I ran my 125 for 14 years on canisters until I got Cyano so treated and upgraded to this headache

You could place a regular skimmer in a bucket with the holes drilled at 8". Then use a small 4watt pump to pump the water into the bucket.
