That Red Planet is hotter than the hinges of Hades during the second week of August!

Can only hope that mine shows a quarter of that color ... someday . . .

That is a gorgeous coral!!

Bronc - Thank you sir!

Like the info you post with the photos!

Rev - Much appreciated. I'm glad someone reads some of my babble.

He was a great LFS Clerk!!! Just got my hands on a nice chunk of this one from a generous local reefer. Love this piece.

Johnny - Good luck with your new piece. It is a nice coral.

Great pic! Almost unreal....

Alfrareef - Many thanks. The Red Planet is a great looking coral, especially top down.

Great pictures!!

Napa Reefer - Thanks so much. Glad to see a new name come across the journal.

ORA Green Planet

Project 365 - September 15th, 2016
I thought today was as good of day as any to post a shot of the ORA Green Planet since I posted the Red Planet yesterday. The green is not near the stunner as the red but 's a pretty sweet coral all the same. This piece has been encrusting for more than a year and just recently really started to get all the shoots on it. It looks like it may start tabling soon. I've always thought ORA missed the boat on naming this coral. It looks to me like shag carpet. I would have incorporated shag in there somehow. High flow, medium light is where I have this one.

Beautiful photos. It looks like you take your photos with the pumps still on. Your water must be extremely clear to manage that!

jsker - I'm not sure I understand your question. Thanks anyway for the view and comment.

So pretty

Dylan Mangold - Really appreciate it.

Shagtastic! ;)

najer - There it is! You should go to work for ORA.

MrD - You are correct, I typically leave everything running. Nothing special to keep water clear, just weekly water changes and a good skimmer.

Jason Fox - Fox Flame

Project 365 - September 16th, 2016
Tonight's post is of the Jason Fox - Fox Flame. The piece pretty much speaks for itself. I can't think of too many corals that has this coloration. Once it gets going, it's a pretty fast grower. Low light with high flow seems to work for me.

I have to slow down my thinking when I type. What I meant to say is I have seen your posts from time to time, but really never read your thread. I need to start at the beginning to ketch up on what you have been doing with project 365. The pictures in the last couple of posts are awesome photography.

ORA Verde

Project 365 - September 17th, 2016
Tonight's post is of my ORA Verde. Shes a doosey! Middle for lighting and moderate flow. Gonna keep it brief tonight. Comments and questions are always welcomed.

The Porter

Project 365 - September 18th, 2016
Today's photo is a macro shot of a coral that was given to me by J Porter, hence the name. This coral is taking on such an awesome growth formation. What it lacks in color is more than made up in the formation of this coral. High light and high flow on this coral.

jsker - That makes sense. I have it now. Thanks again for the view and comments.

Alfrareef - I plan do make the images available in a couple different ways.

Still one of my favorite threads! Gonna be sad when all 365 days are done.

Arron - Thanks. Love getting comments like this.

I say we rename the thread to Project 730!! ;)

Bronc - It's time for someone else to take the ball and run with it. :)

Good Idea!

tweeter - Thanks for continuing to check in.

Turquoise Stag

Project 365 - September 19th, 2016
We had a coral auction this weekend for our local reefing group and I had a piece of this coral for sale in the auction. It was a pretty popular item and went to a great guy here in our reefing community. (Thanks Jack) This is a nice macro of the coral, it's a great color and growth pattern. I have it mounted mid tank and it gets lots of flow in it's position.
