Great article @Randy Holmes-Farley top notch stuff as always. I currently dos kalk through a kalk stirrer but my tank is starting to take up more alk than i can dos with kalk in a day. I knwo your not suppose to use soda ash when using kalk. Wonder what is okay to use to boost up alk back to comfortable level besides a CaRX. Would sodium bicarbonate be okay if dosed into different section of sump to supplement alk supply? Sorry if i missed a recipe for this you have posted somewhere.

Thanks for all you do.

Thanks!

You cannot mix soda ash and kalk together into one solution, but there’s nothing wrong with using both in one tank, and many people do. There’s really no two alk methods that should not be used together.
