Hello, I was interested if someone could help explain to me some of pros and cons to wild-caught marine life. I'm currently doing a research project on the practice by explaining the issues and finding the solutions to these problems. Thank you for your time

I'll give you one pro and 1 con because i could go on for a long time about the subject.
Con- cyanide is sometimes used which is very toxic to the reef and many times causes death in the fish days later.
Pro- I feel wild caught fish have much stronger immune systems and can fight off illness better because they've been exposed all their lives.

Pros:

-Provides revenue to local communities.
-Incentives local efforts to protect reefs from dynamite-fishing.
-Cheaper than aquaculture.
-More convenient than aquaculture.
-Generally considered to be sustainable.
-Coral fragging promotes growth on the reef.

Cons:

-Wild fish are less healthy.
-Moral dilemma of capturing wild animals.
-Hard to regulate, as can be seen by the use of cyanide to catch fish.

Personally, I am fine with wild fish and invertebrates, but will choose aquacultured specimens over them when they are at a similar price. Hope this helps!

Can I ask why you think wild caught fish are less healthy? Is it the shipping process?
