Newbie here!

I am running my 50 gallon frameless reef tank with an eheim 250 cannister. It's a bit much (anesthetically) having the hoses already coming over the top so I want to have a protein skimmer ran next to my cannister (in the cabinet under the tank) and keep things as low-profile as possible. Can this be done if I got hose attachments similar to my cannister inlet/outlet? Or does someone have a suggestion for a good skimmer that's low profile? It seems like every HOB is very tall!

one other thing.. I am holding off on the sump for as long as I can due to my limited space in the cabinet under my tank..

TIA!

Did more research. Didn't know people could make their own. Was going to until I came across this low profile (cheap price, hopefully not cheap product). Hope it gets the job done!

A protein skimmer under your tank without a sump is not an option.
You either need a sump with skimmer, an in-tank skimmer or a HOB skimmer
