Starting a new 40-gallon breeder and was looking for a good combination to move water around in the tank, not trying to break the bank but looking for a decent product. I will eventually add coral.

I am a new reefer so take my view with a grain of salt. I went with an icecap 2k gyre pump in my 40 gallon breeder. I am really happy with it. It gives good circulation to the whole tank and has plenty of extra power. ( I have mine set with 60% as the max). One is plenty, but the controller will let me add another one if I ever want. Plus they have a nice battery backup option.

I haven’t had anything else though so all I can say is I am happy with the direction I went.

Thanks for the input. I think I'm going the gyre direction for water circulation also.
