Hi there! Just got my first tank and got a fish and some snails from a local lfs. Didn’t realize until I got home (rookie mistake) but the trochus snails are covered in a purple fuzz.

Is this ok to put into the tank? Should I just cut my losses? I’m about to drip acclimate them but worried it’s a new tank don’t want trouble so soon.

You could take a toothbrush and scrub them with a little h2o2 if your worried. Make sure not to get any inside the shell.

how old is the tank? Is there algae for them to eat? If there is t I would let them be they will clean each other
