I have a large purple tang that I have had for probably 8 years. It has recently seemed to loose some color in a spot under its eye on one side. Its a fairly large spot. Can anyone help me diagnose this please? 20201128_144140.jpg 20201128_145033.jpg

Ok nobody responded, but within a day the tang was back to normal. This seems like a strange phenomenon b/c it wasn't just light it was white and shortly after it was back to a nice purple. If anyone knows why this happens I'm still curious to know.

Tangs can change color when mad, at night, etc. My orange shoulder looks like two different fish, depending on whether it is angry or not. I would just observe. The location suggests maybe potential HLLE issue, perhaps?

Just to update the tang was fine. After a few days his color went back to normal. Maybe he was mad at me for some reason:)

My purple tang tends to go from deep purple to washed out light purple during the day and definitely gets lighter just before lights out but never had I seen a blotch like that.
Great news that he recovered!!!
