Who's buying one?!?

More reading....

There is also a video of one swimming in a clear container out there too, but I can't get the link to work from Facebook since it's private. Maybe someone else can post it....?

It will probably change colors as most tanks seem to as they mature.

I would not say it is ugly at all… that seems reaching…

I think it looks cool as is.

That fish is just ugly.

Now if it grows to have a deep purple body with yellow fins, that's cool. But this fish just looks like a super pale purple tang.

Reminds me when my friends son was born. Mother and her friends: "So cute!" My friend: "Meet my son, Elmer Fudd, hunter of rascaly wrabbits"

i cant think

Meh, Some things weren’t meant to be cross bred. Prefer the OG for both.
+1 to this, IMHO captive bred hybrids are worse than the pure breeds as 1. It’s unnatural and 2. As adults they become so ugly in most and many cases.

Super lucky to have seen this fish in person. Truly a incredible fish. Alan (koralking) has been bringing in the rarest fish around and it’s a honor that we get to see some of these fish before anyone else in the world does.

I think it's awesome! I don't have a problem with "Responsible" cross breeding. Cross breeding happens in nature on occasion, however, that's nature. As long as it remains ethical, new species are cool. As the purple being one of my absolute favorite of the tangs I would love to have one of the hybrid purple/yellow!

Can't wait to see what kind of stupid names they come up with for these designer tangs.

It might turn brown 6 months after you pay 5000.00 for it.

Definitely can appreciate this fish more in person. The details of both parents is pretty apparent in the offspring. Will be interesting watching it grow and transition.

I'm betting that it will grow up to be a solid grey fish from a distance, but look really beautiful close up.
It’ll probably just look like a ripoff of the truly rare Zebrasoma rostratum or it’s hybrid is what I’m betting
