I have a stupid question, since i dont seem to find any posts on Ultra Carb L. Can someone help me understand just how much I should be putting into my sump or filter sock.

The container says 100ml per 250 liters of water. However on the Fauna Marin USA website it says something different.

It suggest to do 500ml per 1000 liters (250 gallons roughly) in a reactor or 1000ml per 1000 liters in a sock.

Which should I be following? I have roughly 120 gallons of water volume (120 display +40 gallon breader sump)

Thank you for your help.

Hi there,

The amount of Ultra Carb L you should add to the tank will depend on how you will be using it. The media is more effective in a media reactor and therefore requires less to achieve the same results of the greater amount needed in a filter bag. Please follow these instructions:

Dosage:
  • 500 g per 1000 L (260 US gal) if used in a media reactor
  • 1000 g per 1000 L (260 US gal) if used in a filter bag
For your tank, add 230g if used in a media reactor. Add 461g if you will be putting the media in a filter bag.
