As the title states, I’d like to become licensed and what not to start a coral selling business online, so would like to know how to go about that, what license I need, and additional steps other than equipment!

A good accountant will also help steer you in the right direction when it comes to setting up a business (sole proprietor, LLC, etc...) applying for your tax EIN (do this yourself though... it's easy), etc... even though it's an online business, your city may require a business license as well.

Let’s not put the cart before the horse. And we don’t want to discourage you but.........if you told me you wanted to be a corn farmer and you didn’t have land, tractor, fertilizer or seed.....Id say you were crazy....

so, show me a picture of the existing coral you have grown and are ready to market and i can give you all the info you need.

Recently moved to a new bigger house and I usually just sold a lot but have a very good aquacultured colony supplier that I get corals upon local group demand but I do have some in my tank right now to sell but definitely not the volume I will have once my frag tank is up and running! But these are a few I have pictures of but still growing out some other better acros as well as a lot of lps

LLC, EIN, Sellers Permit, Most wholesalers won't sell to you unless you have a brick and mortor shop. Pretty much 30% of profit is gone to taxes. Better to just sell privately to local reefers and forums if you don't plan on doing a few large systems to grow out and sell from. Just my 2 cents.

It's great that you're looking for advice in how to do things the legal and proper way! However, as another commenter wrote above, if I were you, I'd sell privately which would help you avoid the expenses associated with licensing and taxes until it becomes absolutely necessary to involve the IRS and other governmental departments for things to remain legal. To my knowledge, there's nothing illegal about selling privately to other hobbyists.
