Hey guys,

working on build upgrade and about 95% decided on a Platinum Trigger sump.

kind of selective audience, but looking to see if any filter roller sump owners out there can answer a couple Q's.

If i get it, i'm wanting to skip the fuge, and imagine with the high nutrient export of the roller + Skimmer I should be okay. I'm a light feeder as well. What other nutrient exports are you guys running in filter roller sumps? i.e. Skimmer, Fuge, Scrubbers, etc. and what's your nutrient levels like?

Basically trying to avoid bottoming out nutrients, just wondering people's experience and any adjustments they needed to make from using a filter roller. Obviously I can always just "feed more" but trying to make this as low maintenance as possible. Hence me spending big $$ for low maintenance products lol.

Also any Platinum Trigger sump owners your reviews and experiences :).

I am running a BM filter roller.
It replaced a 7" filter sock in my 40 breeder sump.
DT is 120.
My no3-5, po4-.1.
I also upgraded my skimmer from a 9410dc to a 9430dc.
This is all I use for export.

No3 has always been 5-10.
Po4 went up as high as .25 and is going down with the addition of the larger skimmer.

I feed heavy at 8 cubes per day with 14 fish.

* The filter sock removed more than the roller.
Their is a light dusting on the bottom of my sump that was not their with the sock.

From what I know if you give the roller a dedicated "flow through" chamber that's just 1/4 inch or so of space on each side and the return pump dumps into that chamber you will get a much better result.

But the results your getting nutrient wise are great so that's good.

All the water has to pass through the filter roller as their is no where else for it to go.
The overflow pipe is plumbed directly into the roller chamber.
I think the rollers weave/micron rating is larger than I would like.
Even if it stayed the same I will not go back to socks.
Looking to put one ony frag system too.
