Hi,

I'm considering getting a reefbot. I understand the amount of test is limited by the 8 vials for reagents. What I do not know is how many reagent vials the different tests take, would it be possible to simultaneously (well not exactly at the same time but without swapping vials at all) run tests for

Alk
Nitrate
Phosphate
Calcium

?

Or do any of those need more that 2 vials of reagent? Also which kits are most recommended for those tests? What is the most accurate (0.1dkh?) Alkalinity test compatible?

Thank for any input,

Thank for any input,

Alk: RedSea 1 vial
Nitrate: tropic marin or fauna 3 vials
Phosphate: RedSea 2 vials
Calcium: Api 2 vials

Total 8 vials. So you’re good to go.

Cheers,
Rabih

This is exactly what I use and it has been running great (I use TM vs Fauna for NO3).

RedSea alk and Salifert both give a resolution of 0.1 dkh. Both test well against manual Hanna alk testing.

Wow, thanks for the quick reply!

Now I need to figure out what to buy for the wife that costs somewhere in the same range... ;)

Cheers,

Pete

The resolution on my red sea alk is 0.3. Is my test kit off? Or was that a mistake in the post?

You are correct, it was a mistake in the earlier post. RedSea has a resolution of 0.1 Meg/L which is 0.3 dKH. Salifert also has a resolution of 0.3 dKH. I think this is the lowest resolution you can get among the alk test kits available for reefbot.

So I finally ordered a ReefBot yesterday! I'm very excited.

I want to test for Alk, Nitrate, phopshate and calcium...

Are the best test kits still:
Alk: RedSea
Nitrate: tropic Marin
Phopshate: RedSea
Clacium API

Would I need more than one quantity of each to get started?

So I use redsea for alk, api for calc and api for nitrate. APl have worked pretty well and is cost effective. As for which redsea to buy you just need the refill kit :)
