Can I ask what the best option for my setup! Red sea e260 max tank is 36 long 24 deep 20 front to back! Iv got a 3ft aqualife t5 fixture!

would you add 2x G5 xr15 or 1 G5 xr30 to the T5s

The tank will be 80% sps in the end

thanks for your opinion

I would probably add two xr15s to the T5 just to get a more even spread towards the edges of the tank, unless you want to do some lower light corals on the sides.

With multiple lights you can set each light as a separate tank if you ever decide to have half SPS half LPS or if your rock scape is tall on one side, etc.

im just about to setup and fixed my rock with cement! its 12 inch high along top of rock and tank is 22 inch!

what par would be good for sps all along top of rock! maybe few torch corals for little movement!

Is the G5 xr30 lot more noisy with fans than the xr15s? lot of people said fans always seem to run hard on the XR30

And pro or Blue?

I would go with 2 XR15 G5's. I have a Hybrid with 4 XR15 G5 Blues on my 225 gal tank, and, I have no need to add a 5th anytime soon.

I would probably go with the pros , just because I personally don't like the cyan color on the Blue LEDs, as far as PAR depending on the T5 bulbs and intensity you could see PAR as high as 600, but you can tune the lights to get whatever par you want. On the older Radions I definitely notice the running but on the Gen 5s I can hardly even tell if its on.

G5 XR30 fans are noticeably loud.

I have 3 G5 XR15 Pro + 4 T5 on my Reefer 250 (36”) with the fans set to default settings. The 3 XR15s are audible when the fans turn on but they aren’t disturbingly loud. The DC skimmer is louder than the lights.

My other tank with 3 G5 XR30s Pros sound like buzzing bees when the fans turn on. This is made even worse because there are also 2 AI Prime HD Reef that have even louder fans than the 3 XR30s. The DC skimmer is whisper quiet in comparison to the Radion XR30s.

As of right now, I have 2 Blue+, 1 Purple+, and 1 Coral+ and my 4 Radion XR15 G5 Blues at 50 percent running AB+. I am getting 200 par on the sandbed across the 6ft tank.

was looking at the primes also as lot less cost and top seller so BRS says! But always liked the radions going back years but went with 4 hydra 26 and t5s on my 6ft tank" so always said I would try radions if starting another tank!

I have the aqua life 48 with two xr15s. Definitely recommend the two. It’s fantastic. BRS did a BRS investigates on this topic. Check it out

If this was June it would be a no brainer to go with two XR-15 over one XR-30 since they were $420.00 for a singe XR-15 and $840.00 for an XR-30. But even with the price increase to 462.00 for XR-15 and 890.00 for XR-30 I would say 2 XR-15 Pro which gives you the option to go with a 3rd XR-15 in the future. Go with the Pro if your looking to do SPS. We set up a couple Blue and a couple Pro when they first launched to test them and after a few months realized the extra warm white channel helps with sps growth. Since then I've added 19 Ecotech Radions into my Retail shop, all Pros. We have 2 XR-15 on a 48"x24" frag tank in the aquatic life T5 fixture and the coverage is ok for the LPS we have in there. But we have two XR-30 over the same size tank for our SPS and it's way better coverage.

Does the radion still fit the aqualife fixture if using the shorter 16inch side plates on fixture? ask because my tank is only like 20 inch wide as some of the back is for filtration/skimmer that im not using as got the sump!

It can be a bit glitchy at times, but, right now I am using WiFi for Mobius and its better.

I have 4 Radion XR15 G5's, 2 MP40 pumps, and 3 Versa's on Mobius right now.

looks good that setup! looks like not much more room in centre! Don't think the 16inch side plates will work then! may just let the rear bank of lights overhang the rear filter space few inch and just use size unit comes! Don't think will make to much difference to light spread if around 8 inch off water
