Radion XR15 Gen 6 Coming On When Not Supposed To Be On....

Hello R2R, Did a quick search before posting but didn't come up with any results. The last few mornings I have come downstairs to my tank and noticed that the 3 Radion XR15 Gen 6's are lit (albeit, very low setting). Not sure why as you can see by the Mobius screenshots they are not even supposed to be on at all. I was down here with the tank a couple hours or so after lights out last night and the only light emitting from them was from the lunar phase, so at some point between midnight and 7am, they lit up like shown in the photo. It was like this yesterday too but I had to rush out the door to work so couldn't do anything about it. This morning I opened Mobius, went to setting and tapped "reboot all devices", they shut off but come right back on. I killed power to all 3 for a minute, turned back and and they light right back as seen in the photo. I turned the slider down to below the timeline, they light up brightly as they should and I moved the slider back above the timeline, but they only dim down to the point shown in the photo, they won't shut off completely.

Has anyone else had a smiliar problem and how did you resolve it?

Check to see if it got out of sync with the time. Sometimes they switch time zones or such.

This coming on at random times is a known radion issue in g5 and g6. Mine used to turn on at 3am sometimes. They have been this way since launch...

anddd thats why I don't have them anymore.

I shelved my gen 4 xr15s because I got tired of dealing with mobius. It would change date and time randomly causing the lights to come on in the middle of the night. I only use mobius now to control vortechs and TBO of didn't already have six mp40s and two mp10s I would be don't with the whole mess. I was up in the middle of the night not too long ago and an MP40 was blasting in nutrient transport mode when it was supposed to be on canstant speed at 15%. For being top shelf gear at a high price point I find ecotech a bit underwhelming.

Thanks for the replies! How do I check if they are out of sync with real time? I assume somewhere in the settings, but I don't recall seeing any options to sync the two. I'm not at home, I'll see if I can find it tonight. There is no change if I toggle on/off lunar mode. They just stay on, that's one of the things I tried this morning.

Response from support was to perform the actions in the screenshot attached. When I started the process, I noticed the time difference between Mobius & my cell phone was 2 minutes. Two minutes doesn't explain why my lights are coming on 2+ hours before they should, but we'll see! I hope it works. I'll know shortly.

So what exactly do you mean by that? Reload the template & reset start/stop times?

OK thanks. I'll try that now. I went ahead & reloaded the template & now I'm down to only 2 lights on when they shouldn't be so I guess that's a start!... lol

After trying this I had both Radions on either end dimly lit & the center one full blast...lol. Had to close app, reopen & reboot all devices. Now I'm back to square one. All 3 dimly lit 2+ hours before they should even be on. I had issues with these Radions coming on in the middle of the night a few months ago.

I have had zero issues with the two Kessil A360Xe. Basically just got those for the shimmer, but my SPS frags under the Kessils are going crazy for that light, while the ones under the Radions are definitely lagging behind growth-wise. Maybe I'll just get rid of the headaches & get a couple more Kessils.

I find it pathetic that ecotechs fix is to have us sync time and date. Why don't they just fix mobius so it doesn't randomly change on its own? TBO I think they either don't know how to fix it or they don't care. This has been an ongoing issue with mobius since release or shortly after.

Tbh if I knew about this I wouldn't have touched the lights . Pathetic from eco tech tbh . For the price of the lights you would think they would work properly.

That normally works for me.
Maybe try disabling both “Lunar & Acclimation” and make sure all the lights show up grouped together in “Groups”.

Just an update to have info that may show up on a search for people researching these expensive radions. I added one of my gen4 xr15s to a tank I set up in my basement recently. I go down this afternoon and the lights off. Geesh what a shock. I open up mobius and it tells me my device clock is wrong.

I'm sorry but my device clock is perfectly fine and it is 2:46 pm but mobius says it's 6:31 am. I guess I should be happy and consider this an improvement since the date is still correct which has always been wrong along with the time before

After enough times wasting time and time "fixing" the sync issues with these lights... eventually you just give up and sell them and move to a different light...

because ya.. it will happen again..

My kessils and orpheks work as they should.

At such a premium price they are super annoying. When they Die or get replaced I wont be going radians again. I loved my kessiles but think I would have to buy a ton of them lol.

My fix is at midnight I power them off for 5 mins and at noon I power them off for 5 mins via my apex outlets. That way they get hard reset every day.
