Yeah! we want more project pics!
Might tackle it tomorrow. This new job is Monday-Saturday mandatory ot. Life as I have known it is over. Getting the doser and kalk dialed in will give me some peace of mind for the reef. I simply wont have the time or energy to deal with the husbandry if I'm sweating numbers and doing 15% weekly wc's.

The mandatory OT is good to hear for the overall state of the MBTA..... They need an entire overhaul of new cars etc and the situation gets more dire each and every winter they delay. So keep that in mind as you slave away! Your bringing one of the oldest Mass transit systems in the world into the 21st century :)

It's just a tough situation when u have no choice, literally have 1.5 days a week to balance adulting with reefing etc... I'll let u know which # car on which line has the pantless pirate sticker and u can try to hunt it down.

Says the guy who pays someone to do his husbandry! Pssshhhh!

Badabing! Badaboom! Well played shots fired :p
You shush.

Just watched latest YouTube video. The reach on that torch is awesome
It's a double edged sword. Incredibly satisfying to watch, but it takes up a lot of real estate cuz I cant risk it stinging other coral. Meh.

15g of salt mix ready to go.

Tested.

No3 - 5
Po4 .19
Ca 420
dKh 7.8
Sg 1.025
Ph 8.1

Ca and dKh have shown the same weekly drop for a month straight prior to my wc. I am going to try to get the doser set up and start kalkwasser next weekend. Need to relocate the ATO resivoir and then design and build a dosing station. Will try to pick at it over the next week after work. No promises though. ;)

The chaeto has enveloped the entire top of the fuge, time to harvest again.

Cheers all.

The QT is essentially useless besides holding my chaeto. I cant justify spending money on livestock, treatments, etc when I know the tank is gone in a year...

My LFS is run by a cheap tight rump... he charges 7 bucks for a handful of chaeto, but wont give me credit for it when I bring him any... needles to say i have pretty much stopped going there besides for emergency dry goods and aminos.

And now after today:

Packed full of pods and bright orange juvenile bristle worms!

I purposely stirred up quite a bit of debris from the fuge durring the harvest since my no3 is so low. The LPS, euphyllia, and dendros are Loving it!

Great update! Serious chaeto removal
Definitely. Surely explains my no3 going from 35-40ppm to 5ppm over the last 2 months. Worked well.

Mom to her son "you sure have a lot of opinions for someone who rarely wears pants"
I'm stealing that! I spend my weekends saying, "Do you ever plan on getting dressed today?"
