Hit the husbandry hard again this morning. Today's agenda was lighting.

It's been a year since I have pulled the hydras for cleaning. I occasionally smoke in my living room, when drinking usually. So I'm sure that didnt help at all. Overdue to say the least.

I also spot checked the inside, all looked squeaky clean tbh, almost new. Pulled and wiped the lenses, and got the fan area looking like new again, as well as the heat sink.

Before:

After:

I also did a factory reset as the WiFi connection stopped functioning. Couldnt access the schedule. Got that in order and increased my peak run time from 3 hours up to 5.

Lastly, I threw a timer on the rear LED strip to come on during peak as well. I havent been running it at all. While I was doing the cleaning, I decided to give both strips a ~10° tilt in towards the center (much like hybrid fixtures have the ability to do)

That's all for now. Time for a coffee and brunch.

Cheers reefers.

Stuffed LPS. Love the transformation after they get reef roids.

When I decide to get some chunkier stuff to them, I just crush my pellets up into grains and mix it in with the slurry I make to target feed. Works like a charm, and cheap. Twice a week.

I am starting target feeding this week. Good idea with the pellets.
I penny pinch every chance I get. Leaves more money for livestock :)

Going to need to start going to a chiropractor if I keep trying to get a good shot of the anthias. Literally 15 mins of waiting for her to hold still.

Beautiful shots. Very vibrant. My tangs photo bomb my shots unless I'm trying to get a picture of them -- then they hide.

Thanks. And thanks for swinging by... tangs are just pig puppies in a window to me. Cant get them to go away from the glass thinking they're gonna get fed.

Beautiful pieces! Can’t wait to see who wins. I guess you win!
We'll see. The 2 on the right , smaller plugs, are for @Raege to give a shot when the time is right. Hopefully they encrust quickly so I can send them to their new home :)

I believe I told you, @Crabs McJones and @Hemmdog about my STUPID simple planted tank. You can certainly make it look nicer than mine with proper aquascaping and plant selection, but I did this on the cheap! I picked this tank up curbside to give you an idea.

The trials and successes can be found at https://www.aquaticplantcentral.com/forumapc/el-natural/137290-55g-npt-back-business.html

The build starts with stand construction and runs to present day, so if you want to quickly see an NPT (natural planted tank) tank from inception to maturity, click the link!

Glad to see you active again Rich!

Thanks, it feels good to be back around again. Once I'm back to work it will be tough but oll try to find time.

Looks like you're off to a great start with that 55 NPT! Stand came out awesome.

I can lead the pack across the display with the container of pellets I use. Entertaining to say the least. :)

Kind of the same thing when Kalisha has a bottle of Jameson! ;)
