Need a baby when i get the next build going out west. ;)

Yeah, yeah, I’ll clean the glass later.
Hahaha. I love the back panel of mine. Its covered in everywhere ugly. And honestly, i prefer the look over a spotless rear wall. Plus the livestock graze it day and night. Much better than background film with 90's reef photos. ;Bored :D

Cheers bud :)

Hey all, been slackin on the forums the last week or so. Ill catch up today/tomorrow at some point.

Just got back from a 4hr round trip to Mystic, CT. Found another hobbyist which i traded some stuff with. Finally got my wwc Bizzaro cyphastrea and a handful of sps..

Teaser:
20200529_142350.jpg

Have a huge day planned. 20g of salt is half way mixed and im planning a complete sump cleaning. Heaters are going up top, and the return is coming out for a tear down. Its been over a year, its time.

I really want to clean the fuge out but its a waste of time. It all comes back too fast. Not worth the effort.

Full round of testing is up next while the FSW finishes mixing and the new corals acclimate. Once theyre done ill give them fresh plugs and onto the racks theyll go. (More growout competition ;) ). Then ill hit the bricks on the sump. Hope everyone is doing well enough.

Pump is back in and no issues. I was suprised to only find the typical slime and thats it. All was well besides a few strands of stringy stuff around the impellar.

Pushed the testing off to tomorrow. Figure no point on checking levels before a wc at this point. Just see where im at afterwards.

New frags are all glued and placed for now. Will get some pics tomorrow maybe. Tank is pretty foggy at the moment.

Cheers all.

Gonna spam a bit... :)
The martyr..

Between UFC rounds the CT grazes politely.

These two fish were introduced virtually alone, and impressed me with how quickly they established themselves in the hierarchy. Tough ladies they are. Clown Tang is gunning for President of the rags reef. No fear.

Reorganized the racks to make way for new growout competitors.

@Raege add a JF Red Hot Setosa to your list ;)

Right side got a setosa chunk and the ORA Red Planet added to the sps garden. Also on the far right is a chunk of a newly aquired Apache Chief:

@Scurvy Stylo blows my mind. Almost weekly growth is visible.

And on the sadder side... the Monti Spong finally grew into the Seasons Greeting Monti. And it appears the SG lost, and has begun bleaching out from the center.. it was doing do well too... we'll see. Still have polyps and color at the edges.

And the torch is no joke. It doesnt let go. Kenya tree will likely growout on the right side only here :)

I know, i know... im selling it. Still havent seen spots, and i look at my tank and fish 5+ times a day. I just need something to hold onto until the move. The tank has been tremendously therapuetic for me.

So... ya... inbound for tomorrow.

If anyone is looking for some amazing deals on coral, John, over at @YourReef had a mishap where 400+ corals missed the livesale completely. This is my 3rd order from him, and theres a reason for it. Personable customer service. Every time. Simple.

He is extending the live sale prices and trying to get some eyes on the frags that missed yesterdays' train.

Just take a peak, and spread the word, please. He barely slept all night after an all day livesale that he virtually runs alone.
Thanks friends. John deserves it.

Just curious, where you drinking when installing frag racks? ;Hilarious ;)

Uhmm.... cheers? :D

I tilt them in at an angle cuz i dont have t5s. To help with shadowing.. all my sticks grow towards the center of the tank under hot spots of the hydras.

Actually I think he was sober and it threw him off a bit :p
We should never let that happen again! :)

Come get your frags.. your COWLR is screaming for some more sticks up in there! They all have bases spreading onto the plugs. I need room for the growout racks :)

... so... sticks from the @YourReef live sale just arrived. Fat chunky puppies! Gonna do a long drip acclimation as they have been on the road for 36hrs. UPS dropped the ball, big time. Temp was 77.8 unbelievably upon arrival. But whk knows what swings they encountered en route. Pretty annoyed with UPS. But considering the turmoil the country is in right now, i totally understand that fecal matters occur.

John has been in contact with me the entire time. Guy never ceases to impress me. Always cool, calm, polite, and laid back, easy going. Even after some bumps in the road this go around in the live sales.

Floating is done, will update with some pics later.

A story.
From an inch and a half see through fresh import to about a 3.5 inch fish in about a year, it is transitioning, the caudal peduncles are colouring up nicely, no lipstick yet, check out the flat tail, I think it is a she! ;)
The shop wanted to hold her for a couple of weeks to get her feeding, I took her at my risk because I knew I could feed her properly! :)

Beautiful work with her si. Its always a great feeling to rehabilitate a fish from likely perile. That applies for anything alive in my mind really.

You're going to be adding in coral until the guy who buys the tank shows up to your house! Looking good per usual Rich!
Im a hot mess.. I have no kids, no pets anymore besides kalishas' ankle biting ****zhu mix. More of a cat than a dog if u ask me. ;)

The tank is my zen and therapy while i wait for the months to pass before the move. So if no one is gonna offer me a reasonable price for over 90 species of coral, 160lbs of live rock, lights, skimmer, and the whole 9, id rather just grow out what i can for the pure enjoyment i get back from it. And learn about sps and sticks for the future build out west.

Its always in my mind that if someone threw the right number out it would be gone tomorrow.

A few zebra striped hermits came out of fallow QT yesterday. They just froze in the sand bed for almost an hour because they were without fish neighbors forever and refused to move. Was quite funny to observe. Shoulda got a timelapse.
