Spent yesterday bbq'ing at my folks, family, and friends.
The girl in the blue striped towel with the beach ball in her lap is another niece, she is expecting twins boys in the next few weeks.
I became a "great uncle" 7 months ago.. Aubree Rose is the baby asleep on mom...
Hit the pool all day and enjoyed some goofing around.
Today I woke up and surprised my folks with brunch, omelettes and reese's pieces pancakes... hung out all day and decided to run to the meat market and snag a 4 lbs roaster. Honey bbq time. Nom nom..
Snagged some of my mothers' wild blackberries and made a furry friend.
Will test tomorrow. Gnite all.

DIY SUMP
Target: Roughly 7x turnover
33 gallon Long + 12" x 12" MacroAlgae Refugium layout plan:

Too lazy to make a "blue print" like I did with the canopy. Hehe. Maybe later some day. For now, u get a Samsung photo edited and my chubby fingers for an idea of what is to come:
(Green lines are the baffles for sectioning off each function of the filtration I have planned)
Gates valves and a custom manifold will be employed on the return line so I can use excess flow and pressure from the Return Pump to power reactors downstream in the build. This will eliminate the need for '3rd wheel' pumps for additions later on.
When I enclose the sump area with wood and cabinet doors, there will be a viewing window to see the Decorator Crabs' MacroAlgae Refugium from outside.
That is some serious DIY!

Huge update... come back when u have more time
Alright everyone.... just wanted to give all the barn rag riches and friends... a chance to say good bye.
This will be the last time this build is seen as a reef. My mind has been made up for quite some time now. I will be starting the process of tearing down the rock scape and moving everything to acrylic frag racks which my friend John(@thejuice24 ) gave me yesterday after a tequila and shandy night. It was all I had left to do, as plans were already in the making to build racks from eggcrate. That will still happen, but baby steps are the best step. Slow and steady.
They are soaking in a vinegar mix right now. I have 128 frag holes, plus like 12 on the magnetic rack I already have.
The bottom line is that this tank is not forever. I rent this home it's in. And I wanna move west. Now that i have learned enough that I feel I can fire up a reef any time i want, and can afford to, I can, and I will. Promise The sale of all my coral, will be first. And I have less than a year to grow them out. I am at peace with this decision. As I know my heart is in the mountains and the Amber Waves are calling me to return. This reef will finance my move. (Not another tank sadly)
The plan is to steadily rescape the tank, tonight. Because... tomorrow I am receiving 2 orders. 1 is courtesy of @Ryan2428 , also known as the nudibranch slinger. Heard of Salty Underground ever since I got on reef2reef. Almost 2 years have gone by, and the end game of my battle with aptasia is finally over. But not exterminated.
I am going to farm aptasia in the QT. Its never had meds, copper, nada. Just prazi and Water Changes. Been ghost feeding it since the last batch came out of qt and my midas blenny passed. Figure I am done with fish, let's farm some Pests! Haha. I figure while I am growing coral, I will have myself some fun attempting to maintain Berghia Nudibranch in my system. A balanced population that is provided fresh live rock covered in aptasia on a weekly basis. Ryan also gave me some helpful tips, on aptasia progation.. i know right? Who would have ever thought I would decide to help them spread. Thanks for the advice, blue stock insider only stuff. Sorry all
So that's the 1st box incoming... 2nd order is from @YourReef 's live sale. The coral I know I'm getting are a few posts back, but 7 mystery frags are coming as well. CHRISTMAS IN JULY!!! And check out the tracking for both packages. One UPS. One fedex. I couldnt believe it. Still dont. Ha!
Oh! Almost forgot (told u it was a huge update) sorry.
Murphy visited me today. Nylon threads on my rodi filter faucet adapter are crossed threaded, rounded, and wont hold 60psi. Sent an email to SWA where I got it, with the original invoice.
No update from bubble magus with shipping or tracking info yet for the wareantee replacement of the skimmer impellar assy.
So now I'm getting ready to test my water which is now about or over a week with no skimmer running. :mad: right before corals come in? Sweet! Seeya next time Murph!
That's all for now. Busy busy night Of preparation, trying to think of EVERYTHING first before I out my hand in the tank. But the farming already started anyways

I had wanted to farm Berghia after I used them successfully in my 20g tank. I waited too long though and they disappeared before I had an aiptasia tank ready. That will be cool.

I am debating if I should pull a @Crabs McJones and just toss 'em in the tank and do a FTS scavenger hunt to find out what they are. ;Peeking
Didnt test, not gonna, I'll be up at 6am instead to just do a water change regardless. 3 hours of 1600gph and the gyres outta blend it in time for arrival
