Been running no skimmer for 5 days now awaiting the new ph2500 impellar assembly.. just did a 20g wc. Scares me to realize 20g is now only like 15% of my total volume. ;Meh

Wont bother testing po4 until I get the skimmer back in and let it run for a few days.

Fingers crossed I dont end up right back where I started last month before tests were showing a steady decline of po4. ;Nailbiting

Placed some of the zoas I got last week once they seemed happy... Still need to tweak a few locations.

Still got 5 left on the rack that are trying to figure out if they like it or not. :)

Interesting. As you said it’s usually the other way around for who’s getting moved to nest. Maybe it’s foreplay getting warmed up for real deal. Either way cool seeing a new behavior

Caught my eye from the couch. And I think I had a video recording within 4 seconds so I didnt miss it.

So excited.

In other news.... #honestyinreefing

Down to 3 anthias. And the surviving fire fish. I think he starved. Refused to come out to eat with the others. Just stayed in the Mountain caves stuck to the wall. Stressed to death I'm afraid.

Sad too, cuz I tested 2 days ago, and had 0 ammonia(api), 0 no2(red sea), and 30 no3 (red sea) I did a 7gal wc last night.

I feed a half a cube a day rotating pe mysis, and spirulina, so no sudden spike due to food decay. Plus daily dosing of bacteria. (2 strains)

I am running 1.018 hypo, and no meds as of yet. No signs of parasites, or sickness.

Hopefully 3 will be ok and one will become dominant sooner rather than later.

Where there is death, there is also rebirth...

I'm excited to see mating rituals happening in my tank. Stoaked.

I paired them up, 13 months ago. And now I might someday learn to raise the fry to have a DavinciFlake. :D

Or maybe Snowvinci?
:shrugs:

Another anthias dead today... ;Drowning;Hurting

And 1 of the surviving two has a bulging eye on one side.

Feeling so deflated. No fast breathing, no flashing, no spots, no discoloration, eating together yesterday, normal looking poop, I dont get it.

Tank was cycled before they went in, did a wc after tests showed 0 / 0 / 30 no3... dosing bacteria. No copper yet. Running hyposalinity.

Sigh...:(

Impellar assembly arrived today..

Time to get the skimmer back online.

20190510_120029.jpg

I also finished the sump doors and counter-sunk a key and tumbler locking mechanism into each door. Latching behind.

Dcf did their walkthrough today again. And all is clear. ;Facepalm

Gonna get this impellar installed in the skimmer and hook it back up. I let my friend take the hannah ULR po4 checker home to test against his po4 readings.

I will make a Par and Pur% map for viewing today too. Time to finally glue some coral.

For those who didnt know, I havent glued a coral to a rock in over a year. ;Hilarious
