Was wondering if anyone have had some experience with a mysis shrimp culture.

The setup is fairly simple, but I'm wondering if newly hatched brine shrimp is the best food source, as most articles and guides seems to focus on.

Fresh hatched BBS are "nutritional" if eaten within first 24 hours after hatching otherwise they need to be gut loaded.

I actually want to start a music shrimp culture just can't seem to find a source to start a culture. Also haven't looked super hard either too busy!

Obviously when feeding BBS, some are left uneaten so the nutrional value goes down after a while.
Just seems easier to feed pellets or flake food as you can easily see once those are eaten.

I kinda wonder if it's worth the hazzle of feeding BBS.

I never finish anythi

Just be careful with those music shrimp. They might keep you awake at night :). Sorry couldn't resist.

I just suck them up in a syringe and push them down the tube. Mandarin usually eats them right away and if some get out uneaten it's not the end of the world and just adds to biodiversity. I have plenty of phyto and food in my tank. If I didn't have the round hatchery I would agree that hatching them isn't worth the effort but it's super easy with that setup.

Silly auto-correct! Music shrimp would be nice but I'm really looking for mysis shrimp hahahahahaha

I don't really want biodiversity in a breeding setup. Uneaten food is a concern in setups where filtration has limits.

That makes sense. I don't raise any of the larvae from the fish that breed in my tank. I know my clowns breed and I'm pretty sure my orchid and indigo dottybacks are breeding as the male (indigo) has been very cryptic in a cave he created!

I was doing rotifers and BBS in the hopes of trying to raise clownfish larvae but I couldn't catch them no matter what I did.
