Over the last 20 years we have only recieved 3 of these so-called "Two-Faced" clams, and those were wild collected. One side of the mantle is one color and the other side is a different color. In the wild in French Polynesia there are hundreds of millions of Maxima clams and it is said that Chimeras occur once in every 5 million. About 12 years ago I helped set up the farm there and we now only import and sell cultured clams.

For the first time we will be getting a cultured Chimera Maxima from the farm this week, along with 175 Cultured Blue Maximas and some ultra Croceas.

This is a poor pic the farm sent, but you can kind of get an idea. Will update with better pic fully open later this week. One side of the mantle is blue and the other side is beige.
