Here's a really small (5/16") 'Shroom that has been slowly developing. I found it when using a hand magnifier to look for something else on a live rock that had a 1" R. yuma attached:

My first thought was that it might be a purple R. yuma morph, but the long extended outer tentacles look a bit bizzare (I've seen a few baby Yumas and they look more like clones of their parents, even when very small). My other thought was possibly a small anemone, but it doesn't close up on food particles and doesn't contract into a ball shape at night.

I've looked at dozens of Google images of mushrooms and anemones, but can't quite make a match.

Anyone seen something like this before?

As far as I could tell, it was a tiny Yuma. I had to move the rock it was on and, unfortunately, it went AWOL a few months back. I haven't seen it since :/

Bringing back this old thread as I recently found another one...or the original floated away and resettled?

Found it in a very dim spot under some Rics. Moved it to a spot still mostly under the Rics, but up a bit closer to the light and it's slowly moving back down into more shade like a Discosoma. Odd little thing...
