Here’s a couple pics of what my tank looked like before I moved. I had had some of these corals for about 15 years, and most of the fish about 6 or 7 years. The tubinaria and euphyllia are the oldest. The green planet and the Acro right of it were more recent, but grew really well. I tried moving all of it in one day and killed everything. I’m starting over. I have updates on the new set up. Will be posting shortly.

After the move. ☹️ Nothing survived except one snail and a little piece of halimeda.

New “fish room.” Got to cut some holes in the wall, haha! Waterproofed the bottom and made sure it slopes away from the house. This is out in the garage. I can’t fit everything I want in the little space, so I’ll have to get creative with the surround areas and figure out how to hook up ATO. Also, now my chiller is inside. I think if I left it out in the garage, it won’t get cool ambient air to help it chill the water. So, now I think I have to get another controller - one inside for temperature, and one outside for everything else.
Similar to the system I had set up, I’m using a wet-dry sump with external pump (Reeflo dart/snapper has been very reliable). 2 skimmers in the sump. Refugium goes on the right - supply for it comes from the drain - and it’s plumbed back to the sump bottom chamber. For the refugium, I just got an aqueon 20 high and put the baffles in with silicon and cut a hole in the back for a bulkhead. I used miracle mud in the refugium with a kessil h80. It seems to have worked well last time. 4th outlet from the drain is a brs gfo reactor. Might have some phosphate in the live rock? I think I’ve read on here live rock can leach phosphate if it’s been absorbing it for a while. I turned off the gfo reactor before I moved because my chaeto wasn’t growing well and I didn’t know if it was because of too low nutrients or too much iron, or something like that. I’m definitely no expert, but after a while with it off, the chaeto started to grow and I didn’t see any algae outbreaks in the tank so I left it off. I have it running now, though (after having one light on with no algae eaters, I’m seeing some algae). It’s also just going right back to the sump.

More pics of the refugium. I’ll keep this updated as I get it further along, get something growing in there.
Got water moving out to the garage and back in today! After fixing a few leaks, I’m happy to see it running again. Still have quite a ways to go, though, setting up all the auxiliary equipment.
I have a general idea of corals and fish I want to add, but right now, I’m not sure what I should do. I know I’m going to take it slow. To be responsible… aaaand because it’s expensive.
I tried creating a cool aquascape, got some acrylic rod, some epoxy, drilled holes in spots where I wanted the rods. Still, it was very difficult for me. I ended up kind of doing what I always have done and piling them up the best I can to hide seems and make it look natural. Used a couple rods too, but couldn’t get the big shelf I wanted. Might need a little more rock too. In time.
