I have had this fish for about 4 weeks. He was purchased from TSM Aquatics. He seems to be acting and eating normally, but I just noticed this white spot on him in my DT. Up close the spot looks kind of fuzzy. No other fish seem to be affected. Thoughts? Possible ID? Any help would be much appreciated. I’m relatively new to the hobby. DT has been running for 10 months.

Hard to see spot clearly in the pic but can be either post injury or bacterial. What is age of tank as if bacterial , may associated with water quality and new tanks have ever changing conditions and spikes. Assuming you are monitoring the water, what test kits are you using (hopefully not API) ?
I hate recommending any additives or meds to a newer tank but ruby Rally Pro would be my recommendation BUR first focus on water quality followed by diet.
I assume the breathing and behavior appears normal otherwise ?

Sorry for the late reply. It seems the spot is completely gone. His behavior is completely normal with good appetite. I have a large emerald crab that I have seen grabbing one my fish so I was favoring injury (I am trying to catch him) but in any case the white spot is gone or at least undetectable. Water quality thoroughly tested with Hannah checkers and everything is in normal range. I will continue to be diligent with diet. Thanks for the thoughtful reply. This is such a supportive community. I hope to be able to return the favor some day.
