Does anyone know when the Red Sea XL900 will be available? Dimensions are 200x65?... confused. Anyone know the Length, Depth and Height?

Also where and when did Red Sea announce this?

900L = 237.75 gallons. That would be the total system water. My guess is a 45 gallon sump and 7.5 gallon ATO (750xl has a 40 & 7.5) and you're left with 180 gallons main display. Or maybe sump and ATO remain the same as 750xl leaving 185g main display? 750xl claims to have a 160g main display. This is similar to the Waterbox 220
6/230.6 (167/168.9 gallons display).

I assume height remains at 24. Depth 25. Length 72 (remember to subtract 3/4 inch gallons when adding up internal water) Making it 180g. Make it 73x24x25 and you're around 185g. The article claims "This two meter behemoth". But it doesnt add up since that would make it 78.74 inches long.

When looking at the numbers, it's not much bigger than the Waterbox.

Really hope they improve their return plumbing on the larger sized tanks. As it stands now, you can only push a max of about 550 or so gph though the 3/4” return plumbing.
The pictures of that XL900 look as though there could be two separate return lines? Probably not the case, but it does sort of appear that way. Pretty excited about the external refugium through that partition wall. Glad to see that being added from the factory. Thumbs up.

I need this now (XL900). My 1st gen XL750 is full and I have 7 QTs full of fish that need a new home.

Also, how about throwing in a larger peninsula system while you're at it to compete with Waterbox. ;)

Any idea when the pricing and release dates will be announced? I'm just about to make the jump and buy a reefer 170 but the XL 200 might be better so I don't want to buy without knowing more!

The choice of REEFERs for your next tank has just increased with the expansion of our range of premium reef-ready aquarium systems with 4 new models: XL 200, XL 300, XXL 750 V3 & our top-of-line 3XL 900. All of the new models will be available at the beginning of 2020.
The REEFER XL 200 and XL 300 models give extra room for enhanced aquascaping in the 24”-36” size range. The XL 200 & XL 300 are not just higher and wider than the popular 170 & 250 models, but they also feature a laminated, plywood cabinet with adjustable feet.
At the top end of the range, the all-new REEFER 3XL 900 model maintains the familiar rimless format and clean lines of the REEFER series. The impressive, 240 gal. REEFER 3XL 900 gives you the freedom to create a truly spectacular reef. 79” long, and 25.6” high and wide, the 3XL 900 introduces an enlarged overflow box with dual side-facing return pump outlets and increased surface skimming that provides ideal water circulation in the tanks with flows of up to 2600 gph. These new features have also been implemented on the latest version of the XXL 750 V3 giving it a new look and significantly improved flow dynamics. Both of these systems come complete with fittings to attach either a single or dual return pumps.
A unique feature of the 3XL 900 is a split sump system that provides unsurpassed flexibility. The main sump is set for the usual filtration functions with an optional refugium chamber and a dedicated adjustable height skimmer chamber. The sump extension (16 gal.) can be connected to the main sump and used for additional filtration, as a larger refugium or even as a dedicated frag tank. Alternatively, it can be set up as an independent unit and used as a full-size (22 gal.) RO reservoir or saltwater reservoir for automated water changes.

That 900 is tempting. Kind of surprised they released it with everything going on with the 750xl. Would expect them to perfect one first before going bigger. Maybe its a way to get away from negative news.

I guess it really is 2 meters long. 78.74 inches!

That 900 is super tempting, agreed!! We had our eyes on a peninsula setup for when we have more space a few years down the road, but this one at 6.5 feet long might be nicer. I really like that split sump design + the ability for dual return pumps from the factory.

That whole 750xl fiasco doesn't bother me for a number of reasons that I won't get into here.

Ya I started that 750xl discussion. Doesn't bother me although people think i have something against Red Sea. I just setup a 230.6. Hell I'm in the middle of cycling. I'm at 168.9 gallons in the display with a 41ish gallon sump. All in all its 230.6 vs 240... less than 10 gallons... not sure if worth the upgrade.

Probably not worth the upgrade in terms of cost, no. Those WB 230.6 are sweet setups. I especially like the dual-return nozzle from factory. I'm kind of on the Red Sea bandwagon just because of brand loyalty, but quite honestly I'll be researching both WB and RS when we look to purchase a future tank. It'll really come down to quality and feature set.

Based off the measurements the DT portion of the 900 is 224g. Assuming 8g are not counted for (rim to waterline) the DT is around 216g. Which really is substantially bigger than that Waterbox.

Wonder what the price difference between the 750 and 900. It's only 8" longer, but did they have to go with thicker glass? Did they mention glass thickness anywhere the email with the specs?

Do the existing reefers also get updated with plywood stands (e.g. 425XL)?

When do they come out?
All other xl models already have plywood stands... check out the tech specs on the website. I believe only the 170 and 250 didnt have the plywood.
Correction, the 170, 250, and 350 all had mdf stands. Anything over the 350 had plywood.
