Hey guys,

Apparently Ryan favors the Red Sea DIY Net Cover over our own BRS DIY Screen Net Top in almost every situation, so I thought I'd build one and see what the fuss is about. :)

Granted this was probably Ryan's way of getting a free net cover for his tank, but I found some pretty unique differences between the two that might just have me changing over to Red Sea myself!

I'm looking for a screen top to replace the glass panels on my JBJ flat panel rimless 65 gallon tanks - can you provide a link for Red Sea kits (searching the BRS web site I only found the individual components, not a kit...) Thanks

I am a fan of the BRS screen kit but have taken it to a different level using window insulation film instead of screen. You end up with an impenetrable, lightweight top that not only stops fish from escaping, it also stops moisture, and salt creap. It cuts down evaporation and the amount of top off water required. Hit it with a hairdryer after it's in the frame and it is as tight as a drum. you can even cut a small hole for feeding. It even triples as a great light diffuser if you are running intense LED lighting. I tried it once and never looked back. Give it a try @randyBRS maybe even make a video.

And I am sure the same could be done for the Red Sea tops as well.

I also wanted a simple screen top but hated those ugly plastic mounting clips. In search of a more aesthetically pleasing solution, I found these flared corner tabs that mate perfectly with the the BRS screen kits.

The result is a perfectly flush screen top.

When viewed from the front, you can’t even tell it’s there! :)
