Just Started a Red Sea Nano Max G2 XL, I got it running a couple of day ago, with Carib Sea dry rock and Fiji Pink live sand, with Dr Tims one and only I plan on doing a fish cycle. I tested this evening for PH, Ammonia and nitrites and came back with the following. PH= 8.2, Ammonia= 0.1 and Nitites= 0.00. My question is should I test a few more times over the next week or so or add a couple of Clowns.? I am running a Reefwave 25, RS ATO and Helio PTC heating controller. Any advice appreciated.

Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession! In terms of adding fish, I'd wait until the tank is cycled until you add fish. Really, you can do it either way, but it'll be more comfortable for your fish if you wait it out. Just remember, go slow, slow, slow!

I wouldn't worry about PH at all for awhile until it's time for corals. As far as cycling the tank I would use Dr.Tim's Ammonia to do a fish less cycle usually takes around 5 week's. Imo it just gives the tank a good foundation to start off with before you start adding fish down the line..& you have the comfortability knowing the tank went through a hard cycle & it's ready to wipe out any Ammonia introduced when you do add new additions.
