Acrylic 3-way dosing container holder by @cromag27 of Octo Aquatics. Top-notch quality. Typically use for VOSS water bottles. Much better than the 3D printed hangers by Printed3d.parts that sandwich the hanger and bottle lid between the flange of the RO bulkhead and its nut. Makes it difficult to remove the bottle lid. With the OA the bottles slide right out of the rack.

My sixline just cost me over $350 in livestock. He killed 2 cleaner shrimp, 4 anthias, a striped blenny and a canary blenny. and probably a coral banded shrimp or two. I just got worms to put in my trap. He is going in the sump never to see the light of day again...
He was a sleeper too. disappeared till he was big enough then killed everyone and now he is out and about.

for some reason he left 5 chromis, a dragonnet, a cleaner goby, a green mandrin and my big fish.
@Projects with Sam so it definitely wasn't worth it. I probably won't get one either. There's so many other equally pretty fish that play nice.

My Vecton UV arrived. With step up transformer. UK made, from US distributor. They didn’t include all the extra parts I ordered for plumbing. I must get them to get this right.

Still leaning towards the Vecton UV pictured in the quote but picked up this HOB Aqua Ultraviolet UV second hand but never used from a local who was going to get into reefing but backed out. I could use it as a backup to the Vecton. 13 watts.

(2) flush socket receptacle kit with cord tails. White kit goes where circle flush on backside of shelves in cabinet. Tail end plugs into EB832 and skimmer plugs into white socket. Since EB832 hangs on outside of cabinet and various cords go through hole from inside cabinet to outside, makes pain for unplugging equipment and removing cord and all from cabinet. Skimmer cord will now be unplugged from INside cabinet.

Other kit (black). Flush end is male instead of female. (2) grounding probes with 250 system. One for tank and one for sump. Black kit splits into two tails: one for each g. probe. Black kit tails are female in gender so compatible with g. probes. However, flush end of kit is male US 110-120 Volts. Will need short normal extension cord in this going to wall receptacle. Stray voltage from either g. probe will turn off Square D brand circuit breaker and in turn Apex will turn off everything voltage in system except from battery back up.

Got these units installed. Bottom pic put hinges on Adaptive Reef controller board.

Had to remove the strip of LEDs that light the cabinet. Putting an a steel angle iron strip along the inside top/front edge of cabinet to support/strengthen. I’ll be left with battery powered lights for the inside cabinet. Hopefully won’t need to get in the cabinet while the fish are sleeping.

Screwed and glued the piece of angle iron mentioned in the quote. Should greatly increase the strength of the front of the stand from bowing downward. Most of the generation 2 model of Reefers include a built in aluminum strip across the front of the stand up underneath like this.

Had my friend Joe help me with this plywood platform for the 170 stand. Sits on top of the 80/20 frame to keep weight of QT on perimeter of stand. Lip around plywood keeps a little water pooled for leak detection probe. I’ll caulk inside of lip and paint the plywood.

Cut plastic sheets down to size. Will protect glass on bottom of tank. Who knows when you might drop a rock on the glass bottom. No worries now. Will caulk underside to keep them from moving and hydrogen sulphide gas from producing.

Caulked this plywood tonight and will paint in morning. Should have water in the QT tank by the end of next week.

Picked up a trident mount from a guy on Etsy. This one sticks out from the wall crossways (perpendicular). Comes in three pieces. Hoping the trident II for nitrate and phosphate comes in the same format (body), I could mount it the same way.

Couldn’t get a decent screenshot from the video. Video is one of MACNA new products announcements. Company is Smarter Reefs. Product is Reefscicle although not a new product for them. It’s a frozen fish food feeder. Fairly inexpensive and no moving parts. You make a popsicle stick out of frozen fish food and slide it down in a little ice cooler you hang above your DT or return pump. I think the introductory model is $99. Would be perfect for my QT. A little over a third of the frozen fish food feeder I’m waiting to come out.

I’m having Matt of Octo Aquatics do a custom acrylic fabrication job for me. I’m mounting two COR-15 control modules and a switch panel (see pic) to a controller board. The controller board will be mounted to the outside of the cabinet so they has to be a way to prevent tampering of control buttons and toggle switches. I designed an acrylic box to enclose these controls and lock them up from little fingers. There will be hinges to swing the front door up to allow access to controls when the key lock is turned unlock. However I have the means to make this an electric lock with a physical key to switch the electric lock and allow my apex to unlock it also. These pics are by no means final. Just a sneak peek and messing around.

Wow I achieved the Hospitality Award!!

Thank you every member of REEF2REEF especially the ones who personally congratulated me on this award!! I feel very honored to receive this!! i really like welcoming new members to our club and seeing reefers who reefed previously return to the hobby. Also those who are coming over from the fresh side of aquarium keeping and even those who are new to aquarium keeping altogether!!!! Thank you REEF2REEF!!!

@SmarterReefs yes I have the feeder! It’s a class act I must say. Excellent craftsmanship and materials. However I would like to find a way to use it on my FT. 2-1/2” round opening.
