so I recently completed my aquascape for a Red Sea Reefer 850 and wanted to post some pictures so that I could get some feedback. I’m going for a mixed reef and figured if there are any major issues with my design I’d rather know now while there’s still time to fix or improve it. I have about 20 more pounds that I will be placing around the sand bed or in the sump as I see fit. I’m not chasing perfection but I’d still like to do a good job. Thank you!

Those look great to me. I agree about caves and hiding space. Fish love them. I also try to think of shelf effects for placing corals and keeping different kinds of corals separated if necessary. Nice building!

Thanks guys. I’m going to see where else I can add more overhangs and hiding places.

I’m a fan of floating islands, as well. You can get a Tunze magnetic stone frag rack and modify it. I saw one in a photo from Reef-a-Palooza NYC that looked pretty neat.

In my opinion, smaller pieces of rock means larger size of the cave.

Four sizable tangs, in addition to several other fishes can hide completely in the rock work at night.
