My second tank was born June 10th 2017. I am new to R2R but I have lots of pictures of my progress. I hope someone will enjoy watching the build and I also hope to get some helping opinions along the way! So here goes.

Tank is a red sea reefer XL 425 deluxe with black cabinet

Lights 2 AI hydra 26 HD

Pumps and power heads 2 MP 40s
A vectra M1 return pump and a second vectra L1 pump for a future manifold for reactors

My skimmer is a vertex omega 150

The only reactor that I have at the moment is a BRS deluxe running ROX 0.8 carbon

Controller is a Neptune Apex with a DOS and DDR for dosing alk and cal

I also have a jebo 4 head dosing pump to dose red sea trace elements A, B, C, D

I stated off bare bones with little knowledge to the hobby and learned as I went by making mistakes and learning when something went wrong. But now I have for this awesome community called REEF2REEF! I've only been a member since September but I just really started to use the site recently I will post pictures of what I have so far and will update every time something is added and if and status changes in the tank.

My future plans are to add a vortech module to the Apex for better control.
A par meter to measure par in the tank but I can't choose between the seneye or the Apex model.
An Apex leak detection kit. One senor for the cabinet around the bottom of the sump and one for the top of my skimmer collection cup to turn off the skimmer if it full and about to overflow.
Im still trying to decide if I want to run a reactor with bio pellets with a reactor for gfo or do I want to go with a zeovit reactor but I will save that for a later discussion.
An Apex water flow monitor kit.
I'm in the process of building a water mixing station and trying to do automatic water changes with the Apex but not threw a ddr set up.

Thank you to everyone who may view my build and comment!

I've been through a lot my first light blew out 2 weeks after setting up the tank. AI sent me a new immediately but it was a different color. I posted a picture you can see half my tank has a blue hue and the other half has a purple hue to it. Finally got that straighten out I got 2 lights that look the same. When my skimmer pump stopped I broke the impeller and everything always seems to happen late at night when everything is closed and your stuck not know what to do. So I got a new impeller. The first time my return pump stopped I freaked out! But now I think I getting the hang of the learning curve.

At the moment I’m using just some battery leds from Costco but they use 3 aaa batteries and I go threw them really quick. I’m thinking of using led rope lighting and installing a switch threw the apex to turn on when the cabinet door is open.
Thank you I really do appreciate the compliment!
That’s awesom on your first tank! It’s also good you are on here the people here will help a lot. I look forward to seeing your build. If you remember take lots of pics and look up this thread and post a comment so I will be able to see your tank!

The new torches I got Friday are acclimating just fine. I apologize for the terrible photos of the corals I can't seem to find a good filter to take pictures with my phone if anybody knows one I would love to know what it is I have a Galaxy S8 Plus and when I turn the blues on it's either solid blue or you don't get to see the Carl's pop because I have the white lights on.

Are these a type of hawkfish? They look stunning.

Thank you but no they are borbonius anthias. They look even better in person, they are my newest additions to the tank and imo are one of the best looking that I have and full of personality!
