Prepping for a 2.5 week vacation a little worried about leaving it but have a friend coming over to ensure the ATO is filled. I bought an auto feeder and camera to provide me with a little comfort

Just tested as I am getting ready to add coral and was surprised by the results.
Alkalinity 7.25
Ammonia 0
Calcium 410
Magnesium 1300
Nitrate 10
Nitrite .05
Phosphate 0.24

Nitrate and Phosphates are high, I am assuming that its from feeding too much? I feed pellets twice a day and then usually give a cube of Mysis shrimp. I had Cheato in my refugium when I started the tank but it died, I have more coming on Wednesday from Algae Barn so hopefully this one grows and takes care of some of my high nutrients.

No, not really because the back section has the panel that lets you adjust water hight for the skimmer.
I have the 625 as well and in the process of cycling, what plate are you referring to in order to adjust the water height on the skimmer chamber?

the plate that moves up and down between the back chamber and the return chamber. If you loosen the screws it adjusts up and down. Allowing you to control the water height for the skimmer.

Tank update: I am 7 months into it now and knock on wood things have been going ok. I have only lost a Copper banded butterfly and a sailfin Goby. Both just disappeared one day, which happens I guess? My only issue I guess is that it seems I am having to clean the glass of Algae daily. There is no algae anywhere else really, I had some hair algae in the refugium with the Chaeto but that seems to have gone? Not sure why I get so much on the glass?
Stats:
Alk 8.4
Calcium 405
Mag 1260 - a little low
Nitrate 0
Phos 0

Nitrate and Phos have had 0 readings for months now. I would like to see some small reading for both? Thoughts?

I mean that's going to happen In a new tank you're gonna have algae on the glass to scrape off. I still get alage on my glass I clean daily but it's not much. Also the algae growing in your fuge could possibly be from the Marine pure in there. I had Marine pure in my fuge for a few months and those things quickly turned into alage factories. I love Marine pure blocks but imo they do better in a dark area.

If your doing SPS corals you will need 4 MP 40s for water movement. Everyone has their favorite equipment. My advice go with the best you can afford. If you make a decision based on money you will most likely be replacing it later. Go slow only bad things happen quickly in this hobby
