I've been doing this with my kalkwasser top off for a couple of months now and it works very well.
Randy, since TLF AcroPower doesn't have to be refrigerated, could it be added to the kalkwasser along with the Colors? Wondering if the high PH would keep anything from growing etc.
Thanks,
Todd

Honestly I couldn't speculate as to what Acropower is comprised of and I'm not sure Julian has really ever said. I'd say it's a slightly different conversation when discussing supplementing amino acids to things like Kalk or 2-part versus Trace/Minor elements. To me, amino acid dosing is in the nutrition realm of the conversation rather than foundation elements.

Thanks. I see your reasoning. I was just looking at it from dividing out a weekly amount into a week's worth of top off.

There's plenty of Acropower users out there that put this on a separate dosing pump. Might be worth looking into as well.

so I assume that this is for people who don't wish to perform water changes but replenish trace elements? The reason I ask is because I thought most salt mixes contain trace elements, thus doing water changes would replenish them. Maybe I'm way off here but I am trying to see why I would need this product unless going without water changes.

Considering that folks dose Alkalinity / Calcium / Magnesium (possibly) between water changes it is safe to assumed that trace elements will be consumed also. Hence Red Sea's formula to dose based on Calcium consumption. Adding trace elements back between water changes should keep those elements in balance.
