Hi
I’ve had my Red Sea tank running for 5 months now. Unfortunately the more I look at my first attempt of aquascaping the more I dislike it. I’m looking to take half the Carib sea life rock out of the water and redo possibly with a negative aquascape look
My questions are
How long can the rock stay out of the water before bacteria start to die and if they do die will I get another ammonia spike possibly harming livestock ???

I don't know if there is definite knowledge out there showing research in how long live rock stays alive outside of water. But, places ship live rock directly to you in wet paper over 24-48hrs with some die-off. There's a good chance you will have some die-off and possibly have a mini-cycle occur.

Can you not just use a bucket of tank water to store your rock in while you rescape?

Just keep it damp. Either put it in a container full of tank water or if you are working with it, spray it with tank water regularly
