Experimenting with different filter socks and media cup configurations. Trying media cup with matrix and filter floss. Which frees up my reactor for activated carbon. Considering Aquachar in the near future but need to pick up a reliable PH monitor.

Also recieced my Hanna salinity checker, been having trouble dialing in the Hydor ATO lately. Decided to hide a 5 gal cube jug under the bar/buffet furniture next to the tank and the run seems too long for the small pumps (at least the tiny ones that fit inside the jugs) so it's performing inconsistent at the moment. Been topping off manually therefore want to make checking salinity a bit easier.

I know it has been a while but was there a noticible difference in your tank's PH after you plumbed the air intake for the skimmer outside?

There was a slight change. But there was bigger difference when I started using the C02 scrubbing media. I rigged it using a hospital suction canister.

Been using the filter media cup with a Matrix and a small patch of filter floss on top, which I toss and replace every 1-2 days. Dosing of Kalkwasser has begun (after correcting levels with 2 part) im dosing 10ml every 1hr of 50% saturated - will switch to 100% saturated just waiting on batch of corals to be delivered. Set up new Milwaukee PH monitor starting to see an improvement from 7.6 to around 7.8/8.0 . Built out a bio ball rack out of two pieces of acrylic and pex tubing.

Also set up the an AIO 10gal glasd frag tank with a Viparspectra 165w on an DIY aluminum stand. Had to fabricate two weirs for an aditional baffle chamber in the rear where I've place more Maxpect nano-tech bio spheres. Currently cycling. 2x hydor koralia 240s on a smart wave controller for flow, sicce micra pump for the return (only pump that would fit) small jager heater, and hydor smart level for ATO which was left over from the 45gal since I upgraded to a Tunze 3155 for the RSR 170. Will most like be putting diffusers on both lights as well as swapping the lenses on Viparspectra to 120⁰ even though it's about 18" off the waterline.

Dosing 50% saturated kalk at 10ml hourly and suplimenting w/ 2part trying to maintain 10.5-11.5 dKh. My PH is solid at 7.8/8.0

Now that I've introduced more corals I'll be switching over to 100% saturated kalk and will be doing the same for the frag tank. Which has only been dosed 2 part.
