Hey everyone again.

I decided to ditch my current build here:

So I was given a opportunity of a life time and bought a Redsea Reefer 250 V3 for only $400 bucks. I did read up a much as possible about this tank and found out about the seam issue. I did inspect the tank and the seams were fine so I pulled the trigger.

This tank is going to be a slow build since I'm on a budget constraint after purchasing a new house. So many more updates to come but very slow.

All parts will either be bought used off this forum or third party brands. Follow along for more!

Tank came with:
- reef octopus varios 2
- eshopps skimmer x 160
- cobalt heater 100w
- Hanna Test Kits
- Kessil H80 fug light
- Extra water pumps
- 100lb bag of red sea coral pro

Tank and skimmer were super dirty:

Alright guys. been cleaning the tank and noticed the difference between the Red Sea seam and IM tanks.

Here are my thoughts.

Here's my IM 20 gallon AIO tank. You'll see a 45 degree silicone bead.

Here's the Red Sea 250 seam. Noticed there's no 45 degree silicone bead.

I know Silicone doesn't stick to silicone but I have plenty of room to add a 45 degree silicone bead to be safe. This bead should have enough contact points between glass to glass to hold a strong bond.

Congrats on the reefer score. I am just gonna pretend I spent what you spent on mine. Can’t wait to see it up and running If you have 250 questions feel free to hit me up. Mine is kinda going on 3.5 years now. I say kinda cause RS sent me a replacement last year cause silicone was peeling BUT I would buy another any day they took care of me no problems
