Hi guys,
New to the forum and I'd love to share the progress of my redsea 625 tank.I bought this tank back in December 2020 and it has been cycling now for about 4+weeks.
This is my first proper Saltwater tank and my first experiment with a nano tank 5 years ago turned out to be a complete disaster, so i had to give it away to someone with more time on their hands.
Being a very small 90L (20g) tank it was so hard for me to keep the tank parameters right during very hot summers here is Australia. Due to to design of the tank, adding anything external was not possible at all and I finally gave up. It was great tank when everything worked well though.
This time around I wanted to do everything properly and bought a proper tank.
Current setup
Redsea Reefer 625XXL
Redsea 600 skimmer
Sicce return pump
VorTech MP40 x 2 (one is still on its way)
500W Heater
Ai Hydra 32 HD x 3
Seneye Reef with the wifi hub
50kgs of dry rock
30kgs white sand
4 Stage RO system
Redsea Coral pro salt
Other than the stuff above, I have also picked up a Redsea reef water test kit, Hanna PH checker. For some reason the seneye reef is reporting 7.45ph but both the hanna and the redsea test kit show 8.00ph. I have heard that the Seneye is a little hit and miss in this. Current tank temp is set at 25C (77 F) and it is stable and the salinity is just over 34ppm. Tank has already gone through a small cycle thanks to Dr.Tims stuff and currently has 7 Cromis (Only added then yesterday).
Next plan is to get the refugium going and start the skimmer as nutrient levels rise. My local fish store has adviced me to leave it off for a couple more weeks while I monitor the nutrient levels. Also have a redsea tank cover net thingy sitting in the car which I have to assemble.
So that's it for now and I will add pics as soon as I figure how to do it on this forum. Hope you guys have a wonderful day. Cheers
Nathan
