Copper will kill Marine Ich (Cryptocaryon irritans), but will also kill other invertebrates and corals.

Copper should only be used in a hospital tank, never in the DT. It will definitely kill inverts....not sure about coral because I'd never expose coral to copper. From my swimming pool experiences, my guess is that it would kill the algae in the coral....so yes, it would kill coral. Again, only in a hospital tank with nothing but the "sick" fish and some plastic pipe so it can hide, and an HOB filter.....and an aerator.

Yep

of course ICH doen't have to be "cured" with copper but that was not the question.
