This week we're going to talk about amazing, beautiful, awesome reef tanks! You know, those aquariums that inspire us to reef better! Inspiration comes in many different ways and varieties for all of us so I thought this could be a good discussion and hopefully a way to get us more inspired! Let's talk about it!

1. Do you have a certain reef tank or tanks that inspire you and how you reef? Please share a photo and tag the owner if possible!

2. What are the details that inspire you when you see a reef tank that you love?

yes- there are many to post pics of but every tank has its own creation and decor and like going to a public aquarium, admiring various systems are one of the rewards of this hobby

I personally got inspired by @Miami Reef and the reason why is… Clams! I really like them and always have but after seeing the 10 Maximas in Miami’s reef it pushed me to getting a second Tridacnid.

I am definitely inspired by other reef tanks! I'm always in awe when I go to CherryCorals. It's a ton of fun looking at the incredible collection of corals they have. I loved the various @WWC tanks around the store as well and took some pictures to use as inspiration.

I loved their hammer garden in the first picture and have been collecting my own to make one similar!

I am still very new to this and I have to get inspired by others who have been at it for years. This is an upgrade I just did this weekend.

SerpaDesigns kinda... thus other
I wanted to create a pretty tank that also hid the pipes I used to create hide holes but also I'm weird and I'm only happy when something I make is weird and different. So I was inspired mostly by freshwater. Though I have nothing on Tanner. Saying that I'm considering letting GSP overrun it which would be inspired by Lion King.

For me it’s all about Steve and Steve.

The amazing Oregon Reef was always a big inspiration. I mean just look at this depth!! Steve Weast remains a true pioneer of the hobby, both with his feats of the past and his current cold water beauty.

Steve Hurlock’s masterpiece mountain reef tanks remain the blueprint for a more attainable living room build. Where Weast excelled at an amazing depth of view, Hurlock showed that peninsula builds could be both possible and beautiful with his bommies and clams presentation. I mean just look at this beast. Sooo sweet.

If you are talking about this.

It's actually several varieties of hammer coral placed closely together. I have heard them called hammer bouquets before.

Here is a lights on and off comparison of mine so you can kinda see what I did.
